THERE MAY BE MORE SURVIVING BANK NOTES!
In 1902, The First National Bank of Westville issued a grand total of 24,396 large national bank notes in $10 and $20 denominations4. Of these, only 2 are known to survive (0.008%).In 1929, a grand total of 5,460 small national bank notes were issued in $10 and $20 denominations4. Of these, only 17 are known to survive (0.293%).Based on the table below, that leaves us with 29,837 bank notes which are possibly hiding in somewhere in Westville in someone's nightstand drawer, a box in the attic, or even a safety deposit box from many decades ago. In short - there is hope that additional surviving bank notes could be found!
